Quick quiz… Which of the following 2018 Cabinet Makers Association Wood Diamond Awards did Rivendell Woodworks win?

a.) Kitchen: European $25,000 – $50,000
b.) Kitchen: European Over $50,000
c.) Website
d.) All of the above

The correct answer is d.) All of the above!
In fact, these are the only three categories we competed in. We won first place for all of our entries!

The European Kitchen priced between $25,000 and $50,000 is a modern design with sleek styling. Its custom upper cabinet doors have brushed aluminum frames with satin-etched glass inserts. “This is a typical job for Rivendell,” Jeremy said, “The fact that it won first place is evidence that we hold ourselves to a higher standard.”

The European Kitchen priced over $50,000 has an open, minimalistic feel, designed to complement the vaulted ceiling with exposed beams.
“Winning this award was especially satisfying,” said Kendiah. “I was the main engineer on the job. It had a few atypical design requests, so the engineering portion of it proved to be a bit more challenging. I was also a mainstay on the shop floor during its production. While the larch wood was beautiful, it was exceptionally difficult to work with due to fragility and softness. All the more reason to be happy with the results, a beautiful first-place kitchen!”

About a year ago, we launched our new website with 360 Web Design of Dublin. Bigger and better than our previous site, it includes a prolific portfolio and expanded about us section, where you can get to know our work and each of our owners. We also added real client testimonials and some frequently asked questions. “We put a lot of time and energy into making sure the website included everything a high-end, custom millwork and cabinet shop should have,” Kendiah explained. “Winning this award solidifies that we achieved our goal.”

“We are pleased and humbled to be recognized by our North American peers,” said Kanda. “We’ve consistently won annual Wood Diamond Awards since the first year they were offered in 2010. Our quality work continues to take the top prize in impressive CMA categories, even as there are more entries and competition.”

Rivendell graciously accepts these awards and thanks the Cabinet Makers Association for hosting this program to promote excellence in woodworking and cabinetry. We look forward to participating again next year!
