We were pleased to receive a first place 2021 Wood Diamond Award from the Cabinet Makers Association (CMA), presented at the woodworking industry’s semi-annual trade show in Las Vegas. We won in the Commercial category, having produced all of the cabinetry, wall paneling, and millwork for the City Council Chambers of Antioch, California.
The project challenged our systems and production. We welcomed it as a growth opportunity to turn concepts and drawings into the reality of a completed product. We had to account for not only the slope of the floor, but both the curvature of the walls and council seating… a span of more than 100 feet!
Our task was to blend the cabinetry, millwork, and paneling with the tight and exacting measurements of this unique site. Additional challenges included accommodating hidden bulletproof panels at the dais, integrating the council members’ electronics, and matching multiple panels of quarter sawn beech veneers.
